Romanian immigration police officers issued some 110,500 residence permits in 2025, according to the General Inspectorate for Immigration.

Romanian immigration police officers issued some 110,500 residence permits in 2025, according to the General Inspectorate for Immigration. 

Immigration police officers issued 107,878 residence permits, at national level, to foreign nationals who chose to live, work, or study in Romania. Of these, 105,848 temporary residence permits were issued for various purposes, such as employment, study, or family reunification, and the remainder were long-term residence permits.

2,613 other temporary residence permits were issued to foreigners who benefit from a form of protection in our country (refugee status and subsidiary protection). The General Inspectorate for Immigration continues to provide efficient and transparent services to foreign nationals, contributing to their integration into Romanian society, the aforementioned source has added.
