The General Inspectorate for Immigration has concluded its national information campaign “Legal work protects your rights”, carried out in Romania in October 2025 with the aim of raising awareness among employers and foreign citizens about compliance with legal provisions regarding the employment of non-EU citizens.

Throughout the campaign, immigration police officers organized 45 information sessions at national level, attended by 85 immigration police officers, 490 representatives of companies, with a keen interest in the law on the regime of aliens, legal employment conditions and the necessary procedures to get permits and extend the right of residence. In some counties, foreign nationals were also in attendance, as they wanted to be directly informed on their rights and obligations on Romanian territory.

During the sessions, immigration police officers provided clear information on the legal framework of foreign nationals’ employment, the responsibilities of both employers and workers, ways to reduce undeclared work, also highlighting the importance of observing the terms and conditions of stay.
