Over 84,000 work permits for foreign nationals

The General Inspectorate for Immigration in Romania issued 84,253 work permits for foreign nationals from the start of the year until October 31, which accounts for 84.3% of the approved annual quota. Most foreign nationals fall into the category of permanent workers, with 83,387 permits issued for them. Another 393 people have got employment permits as posted workers and 233 permits have been granted to highly qualified workers.

Also, 177 foreign nationals have received permits for seasonal work, whereas 58 documents have been issued for workers who got transferred within the same company. At the same time, 4 people have been granted permits as au pairs and one permit has been granted to an intern.

The General Inspectorate for Immigration continues to support the business environment and employers in Romania by digitizing and simplifying the permit issuance procedures, ensuring a fast, secure and transparent process, the institution has announced.
