Immigration police officers issued 100,914 residence permits, between January 1 and November 30, 2025, for foreigners who chose to live legally in Romania. 96,579 of these temporary residence permits were issued for various purposes, such as employment, studies or family reunification.

The figures are illustrative of the sustained and continued activity carried out by the structures of the General Inspectorate for Immigration (IGI), that manage a significant number of requests on a daily basis, ensuring strict compliance with the legal framework as well as fair and professional treatment for each beneficiary, the Inspectorate has announced.

According to IGI, in a dynamic and diverse migration context, Romania is an increasingly frequently chosen option by foreigners for work, studies or long-term settlement, and this reality is mirrored by the activity of immigration police officers, who process and solve a high volume of requests every day.
