Cosmin Tudoran, the young Romanian who hit a delivery worker from Bangladesh in a Bucharest street last year, calling him an “invader”, has received a suspended sentence in a court of first instance.

Tudoran has been sentenced to one year and six month imprisonment for assault, and six months for public display of fascist, Legionnaire (Iron Guardist), racist, or xenophobic symbols. These sentences were concurrent, and with an added increment, resulted in a total term of one year and eight months, which was suspended. Under the ruling, he must perform 120 working days of unpaid community service and must pay 3,000 euro in moral damages to the delivery worker. The decision may still be appealed.

On August 26, 2025, Cosmin Tudoran filmed himself striking a Bangladeshi delivery worker, calling him an “invader” and telling him to leave Romania. Seconds later, Tudoran was tackled to the ground and restrained by an off-duty police officer.
